High School Graduation Project

Students start working on their High School Graduation Project in 9th Grade.  Students are given an Advisor who helps guide them through this projects process.   According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Chapter IV guidelines, section 4.24  High School Graduation Requirements:

Requirements (for graduation) shall include course completion and grades, completion of a culminating project, and result of state and local assessments of academic standards.  The purpose of the culminating project is to assure that students are able to apply, analyze, synthesize and evaluate information and communicate significant knowledge and understanding.

The project will be in the form of a portfolio and will consist of a compilation of student work accumulated during grades 9-12.  There are six (6) areas or dimensions of the high school experience that the students will include when constructing the graduation portfolio:

Teamwork

Communication Skills (Including at least one entry of oral expression

Research Skills

Career Exploration

Use of Technology

Analytical Thinking
