Dual Enrollment

The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District is pleased to announce the initiation of a dual enrollment program with the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Penn State New Kensington..  This program will enable qualified seniors to attend a college course on the IUP or PSU campuses in the afternoons.  Each of the courses offered is accredited and will be transferable to most accredited college and university programs of study as a liberal study or elective credit.

Students will be released in the afternoons from Saltsburg High School in order to reach the campus allowing ample time to commute, park and reach the classroom.  This release will occur 5 days per week regardless of the college class schedule.  Students or parents are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the campus.  Student’s schedules at Saltsburg High School will be adjusted to allow for this release.

Courses taken at college will be listed on the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District transcript, and the student will be awarded 1 elective credit for taking this course.  That course however will not be calculated in the class rank and GPA of the student.  Students will receive ½ credit for courses that were taken in the fall semester at Saltsburg High School.
