Our Mission Statement 
The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District has an obligation to ensure that all Blairsville-Saltsburg students will have equal access to a high-quality education that will allow them to reach their full potential in all career paths that prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century and global economy. 
The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District is committed to being a high-performance organization focused on outstanding student performance, achievement, and preparation for a lifetime of success. Recently the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District was named one of the "Top 55 Performing School Districts in Pennsylvania" by Standard & Poor's. The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District was named an Academic Outperformer due to two consecutive years of a significantly higher percentage of students scoring proficient or above on Pennsylvania's reading and math tests. Standard & Poor's developed the analysis used to identify outperforming school districts to highlight outstanding academic performance and to help educators in school districts with similar characteristics identify appropriate benchmarks to guide their own improvements.
The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District is located along the scenic U.S. Route 22 corridor in southwestern Pennsylvania, approximately 45 miles east of the City of Pittsburgh. The district encompasses approximately 142 square miles in southern Indiana County and a portion of northern Westmoreland County, making us the second-largest school district in Indiana County. The 2000 Census reported that the district has approximately 16,000 residents.
The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District serves approximately 1600 students on three campuses that are located in Blairsville and Saltsburg. Students residing in Burrell and Black Lick Townships and Blairsville Borough in Indiana County attend the thirty-six acre Blairsville campus in Burrell Township, which is comprised of Blairsville Elementary School (PreK-5), Blairsville Middle School (6-8), Blairsville High School (9-12), and the district administrative offices. Students residing in Conemaugh Township, a portion of Young Township and Saltsburg Borough in Indiana County, and Loyalhanna Township in Westmoreland County attend the Saltsburg campus comprised of Saltsburg Elementary School (PreK-5) and Saltsburg Middle/High School (6-12), which are located in Conemaugh Township, Indiana County.

Heritage Conference 4 x400 Meter Champions

Congratulations to the boys and girls 4x400 meter relay teams. They were awarded the Barry Madill Award at the Heritage Conference Track and Field Meet for winning the relay.

The Board of Directors of the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District will hold their Regular Voting Meeting virtually, Tuesday, June 29, 2021 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

School Board Committee Meeting

The Board of Directors of the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District will hold Committee Meetings virtually, Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 5:30 p.m.

Color and Mascot Idea Survey

All students in grades K-12 can choose color combinations for the new school colors. Red and Orange are not permitted to be in the color selection. You can also give your idea for a new mascot. Please complete the linked google form. Students will have until May 7th to complete the idea google form. The top 7 color combinations and mascots will then be put on an athletic uniform image and emailed to each student, and available on the school website. A vote will be taken in each homeroom via google forms on May 14 for the final color and mascot choice.

Blairsville-Saltsburg Renaming Survey and Information

The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District is offering all stakeholders (parents, community members, staff, and students) the opportunity to assist in the renaming of our district.
